Hi, fellow Mentors/ Fundraisers

I trust that you are all well.

Thank you for the platform and the ability to forward my concern to you.

I am Peter Louis currently residing at 16 Taranto Way Strandfontein Village – Pin Link location 34.0730027,18567319 – Cape Town South Africa. I am voicing my concerns as for the past few years I’ve been in and out of court trying to save my home/property.

Please help us save our home. Due to my outstanding arrears the bank is adamant that they want their money that is owed or the property will end up at auction/foreclosure. Which I’m not in a position to afford the arrears owed currently. Our home is very sentimental to our entire family. I have raised my two daughters by myself and have been staying in this house for the past 29 years, and now we have expanded our family and we have two grandsons aged 6 and 9 staying with us. In total we are only looking at 15 months of bond repayment left and a total of two and a half years in arrears.

Yes I have made a few financial mistakes especially by acquiring a second bond 17 years ago which has ultimately been the impact to our remaining arrears. Due to this I have gotten divorced 15 years ago and subsequently left me to raise both my daughters all on my own. I have also used all of my savings and invested that into funding a start up company. I was previously retrenched from my job at Media 24 in 2017 and have had a few other Business failures. I also worked for Courier Guy as an ISP contractor and as an ISP contractor with On The Dot Newspaper and magazine Distribution Comp (O.T.D is a subsidiary of Media 24) delivering of Hard copy newspaper, magazine and home deliveries Publication. The department became redundant because of industry changes and the Competition Commission approved it due to hard copy subscribers no longer in circulation as most readers are currently reading newspapers and magazines online. Also the aftermath of COVID 19 effects has been rather difficult for me to recover from.

I am currently working for a company focusing on Food security as a sustainable source. We work with the poorest of the poorest communities in their location. The money that I earn is not sufficient enough to cover my bond repayment or to settle the outstanding arrears, I am also unable to apply for loans or financial assistance due to my bad credit records as you can see with the information that I have listed above.

I’m not blaming anyone for my unfortunate circumstances and I have no regrets in the life I have lived so far, I am just taking this as an opportunity to continuously learn and focus on good lifestyle habits and looking out for more opportunities to better my life from here on wards.
